April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics is hoping to secure her third medal. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. This may be the last opportunity she gets to do so at the age of 39. Her optimism is that she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross was reported in NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even perform well, you will win the gold. It's also going to be an issue of luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents and her sister were residents there. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of sports. She played basketball and ran the track as well as her indoor volleyball achievements as a pre-collegiate athlete. She was definitely the best in the game of indoor volleyball. The college bio says that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career in high school. She was awarded the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999, for her performance. In 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do from the year 2017. But, Ross was a major player in the world of beach volleyball before the pairing. She actually won several major championships while playing using two partners, one of whom is an icon of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 until 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships in 2009. The duo eventually captured a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor won gold, overtaking them. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she announced her retirement. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She played during high school, and even before hitting the beaches as a professional. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was remarkable. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four with her help. Her personal life was tense after a devastating loss in her sophomore, yet was capable of achieving the All-American distinction. Over her final 2 years in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title every time. As an individual she established herself as a legend by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players across the nation. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast when she was in her sophomore year at USC. However, she keeps her parent close to his heart. Also, Margie is an ongoing source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday her daily life.
