Sheryl Underwood is an American television host, comedian and actress most well-known for her role as host of the popular daily talk show The Talk. Sheryl was born in Arkansas and was raised in Little Rock, Atwater, and Atwater. Sheryl was raised in a difficult family. She spent most of her young life caring for her younger sister Frankie who was afflicted by an illness called polio. When she was a child, she had a difficult relationship with her mom. Sheryl states that her mother was once brutally stabbed by her father because he was too close. Sheryl joined the military after her college graduation. But her passion was comedy. The show was named the first female winner of the Miller Lite Comedy Search, held in 1989. She started her TV career in 1992 when she became a regular performer on the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. The host was on TV for the 2000 season of Oh Drama! In 2011, she began participating as a co-host on The Talk as co-host. She's also appeared in fictional programs like Bulworth Niki and Beauty Shop.
